For the record: doing (Canadian) taxes while deathly ill is not fun. But at least my immune system waited until this week to collapse beneath me.

:( I'm sorry to hear this. Best of luck with the taxes!

I've heard how unpleasant filing German taxes is, so how do Canadian ones compare to the mess that is the U.S. tax code? ...And didn't you have to file with the IRS, too, just in case you weren't paying more in tax up there?

They seem more reasonable, but it's not like I'm really taking advantage of most of them.

And yes, I had to file my Canadian income with the IRS. I might not have to next year, if I'm out of the country for at least 330 days (and keep track of them).

Every time I do my taxes with a fever, I end up double-claiming my T2202A education amount. So uh.. watch out for that? I hope you EVADE DEATH and recover soon.

I hope you feel better soon. I've heard from a couple of grad students, though, that their immune systems somehow manage to become attuned to the quarter system such that they only get sick once their finals are done. Neat trick (if it's not observational bias).
